Ploile torenţiale şi inundaţiile afectează, astăzi mai multe ţări europene. În Belgia, intemperiile au provocat cel puţin patru decese, Luxemburg şi Ţările de Jos au suferit de asemenea pagube semnificative, însă cea mai îngrijorătoare situaţie a fost înregistrată, în vestul Germaniei. Bilanțul deceselor s-a modificat, astăzi, de la oră la oră, după ploile puternice din vestul țării din cauza cărora s-au revărsat mai multe râuri, iar casele și pivnițele au fost inundate. Catastrofa este fără precedent în ultimele două decenii, cu cel puţin 42 de morţi, potrivit celui mai recent bilanţ, după cum relatează AFP.

„În unele zone nu a mai plouat atât de mult în ultima sută de ani”, a declarat pentru CNN Andreas Friedrich, purtător de cuvânt al serviciilor meteo din Germania.
